We collect money from around the world, then pay it to our members twice a year. Since 1977, we’ve paid our members more than £700 million.
We represent all types of writers, including novelists, scriptwriters, academics and journalists. If you’re a writer, you may be owed money.

Have your say on AI and copyright!
The Government has launched a consulation on AI and copyrigh, stating its preferred option is a coopyright exception, allowing AI companies to use your works unless you specifically opt-out.
We think this is both unworkable and deeply unfair to creators. If you feel the same way, there are a couple of things you can do to help.
First, submit a response to the consultation. It’s open to individuals and you don’t need to answer every question. You can also write to your MP to draw attention to this important issue. We’ve produced useful guidance for both.
